Fax Service

A faxing service is available at the Checkout Desk. Library staff will transmit messages for a fee. The library does not, however, provide incoming transmission service.

Computers and Internet

The library has computer and internet stations located in the Adult Services, Youth Services and Teen area. In addition, there are two 15-minute Guest terminals located in the Adult Services Department. Wireless access is available throughout the library.

Homebound Services

Helen Plum Library cardholders of any age confined to their home, either permanently or temporarily, may receive Homebound Delivery Services. Your library card gives you complete access to books, large print books, books on CD and even DVDs. All materials are delivered to your door and picked up again when they are due. Your personal volunteer can help you make selections.

Interlibrary Loan

When you need an item the Helen Plum Library doesn't own, we will try to get it for you from another library. All you need is a current Helen Plum Library card. Contact either the Adult Services or Youth Services desks to request books, music, CDs, DVDs, magazines, articles, audiobooks, microform and more. We limit Interlibrary Loan requests to four items per week per cardholder.

Low Vision and Special Needs

The Helen Plum Library has resources for individuals with special needs. Please ask at the Adult Services Department about our:

Meeting Spaces

All meeting spaces are available to applicants with a valid Helen Plum library card.

Large Meeting Spaces:

The Colonel Plum Auditorium, Board Room and Plaza Deck are available to community organizations and businesses. Reservations may be made through the library's Business Office at 630.627.0316 ext. 250.

Small Meeting Spaces:

A small conference room (accommodates up to six people) and a small meeting room (accommodates up to two people) are available for two-hour/day reservations through the library's Adult Services Department at 630.627.0316 ext. 503.

Museum Adventure Pass

Museum Adventure Passes are available to Helen Plum Library cardholders on a first-come, first-served basis. Passes are available in-person only at the Youth and Adult Services departments. This free service is sponsored by Macy's.

Proctoring Service

Proctoring service is available for Helen Plum Library cardholders. Call the Adult Services department at 630.627.0316 ext. 503 to schedule your exam.

Notary Public Service

The Helen Plum Library offers Notary Public Services for a one dollar charge. This service is available at the Circulation Desk but please call ahead to make sure a notary is available. Remember to bring valid signed photo ID with you and do not sign the document in advance. (Please note: the library cannot provide notary service for documents of conveyance or real estate, i.e. mortgages, loans, and property transfers.)

Reserve A Librarian

Any Helen Plum Library cardholder (high school age and above) may contact the Adult Services Department to schedule an hour-long appointment with a Reference Librarian to learn how to use the many online resources available through the library.
