Current Service Updates
Helen Plum Library follows all state and local guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and help keep our community and staff safe. The following measures are being taken:
The library building is open for limited in-person services. Patrons can pick up holds, access computers, visit our service desks for quick reference and reader’s advisory services, access the self-serve copy machine located at the front of the building, browse, and check out materials. Masks are required for all visitors over the age of two years.

Library Hours
Library hours have been restricted in order to appropriately staff the building, responsibly handle returned materials, and provide safe service for both the community and staff.
Library Cards (Renewing and Applying)
Library cards are being issued and renewed remotely and in-person for residents and businesses. A library card is available to anyone who lives within the Helen Plum Library District. To apply for a new card or renew your expired card, click here.
Computer Use, Faxing, and Scanning
Limited computers are available for one 30-minute session per day, no appointment is needed. Faxing and scanning are also available.

How to Get Library Materials
Plum Pickup Service
Use Plum Pickup service to set up an appointment for “ready for pickup” holds to be checked out, bagged and ready to grab and go. To find out more about Plum Pickup, click here.
Home Delivery
Lombard residents of any age confined to their home, either permanently or temporarily, may receive Home Delivery services. Click here to request Home Delivery.
Printing Pickup
Need something printed? Email askalibrarian@helenplum.org or call (630) 627-0316. A librarian will contact you to schedule an appointment for picking up requested printouts.
Returning Library Materials
The Library’s outdoor book drops are open; Patrons may also deposit returns in the book bins in the front lobby. Please do not hand materials directly to staff. Overdue fines will continue to be waived during this time.
