Current Service Updates
Helen Plum Library follows all state and local guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and help keep our community and staff safe. The following measures are being taken:
The library building is open for limited in-person services. Patrons can pick up holds, access computers, visit our service desks for quick reference and reader’s advisory services, access the self-serve copy machine located at the front of the building, browse, and check out materials. Masks are required for all visitors over the age of two years.
Library hours have been restricted in order to appropriately staff the building, responsibly handle returned materials, and provide safe service for both the community and staff.
Library Cards (Renewing and Applying)
Library cards are being issued and renewed remotely and in-person for residents and businesses. A library card is available to anyone who lives within the Helen Plum Library District. To apply for a new card or renew your expired card, click here.
Computer Use, Faxing, and Scanning
Limited computers are available for one 30-minute session per day, no appointment is needed. Faxing and scanning are also available.
Live Chat with a Librarian
To reduce time spent in the Library, please utilize our remote reference and reader’s advisory services. Please call (630) 627-0316, or have questions answered online through live chat. Visit What to Read Next for personalized reading recommendations. Patrons can also email AskaLibrarian@helenplum.org for assistance or fill out our Ask a Librarian form.
