Hours: Approximately 19.5 hours per week
Salary: Starting at $15 per hour, depending on qualifications
We are seeking an energetic, punctual individual to fill the position of Part-Time Facilities Monitor. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, orderly environment for the patrons and staff of the Library. A positive attitude and willingness to work with others are desired.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensures the safety and comfort of Library patrons and staff
- Assists Library staff and management in building and security related matters as needed
- Writes incident reports and notifies proper authorities when necessary
- Takes action to deal with potentially disruptive or problematic situations
- Prepares and sets up rooms for meetings
- Maintains general awareness of what is happening in the Library
- Secures the building at opening and closing
- Performs minor maintenance and cleaning as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Exercises appropriate judgment and discretion
- Professional in appearance and demeanor
- Must be able to: Lift and move objects weighing up to 20lbs; Sit or stand for extended periods of time; Bend to retrieve items from the floor; Accompany patrons to all public areas of the Library; Push a cart of objects weighing greater than 100 pounds
Requirements:
- Available to work nights and weekends
- Basic computer skills
- High School degree
- Experience in a public service environment preferred
- Security experience preferred
