Sweet Treats! Storytimes at the Library

Storytimes's picture

Is there anything sweeter than storytime? We don’t think so!

This past week we enjoyed reading books about some sweet treats in anticipation of National Ice Cream Day at the Library this Sunday, July 17. We hope you will join us on the Library Plaza at 1:30pm for some messy fun and delicious treats! Dairy Queen is providing the ice cream, and Weber Grill Restaurant is bringing hot dogs and chips. Be sure to come early as supplies are limited.

What we read:

This theme was the perfect time to sing a storytime favorite – the “Milkshake Song” from the Songs for Wiggleworms album.  We love to sing in storytime and love all the benefits singing has for your child’s language development. Did you know the library has a large collection of children’s music that is fun and educational? The Youth Services Staff will be happy to help you find some new music for your listening enjoyment. Don’t forget to add the books read in storytime to your 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten log and check out our Pinterest Page for more Early Literacy ideas and book suggestions.

See you next time!
