Current Volunteer Opportunities
Monitoring movies on Tuesdays
Monitor the auditorium when movies are shown on Tuesdays from 4pm to 6pm. The volunteer should be someone with an authoritative manner who can respond to emergency situations should they arise.
Homebound Delivery Service
Using your own vehicle, deliver and pick up books and other Library materials to people who are homebound. You'll help to keep track of their reading interests and provide recommendations for them, too.
We need people who are willing to be advocates for the Library. Typically, this involves either phoning, writing, emailing or visiting in person with our State senators and representatives either locally or in their Springfield offices, or contacting our U.S. senators and congress people either locally or in Washington, D.C. This is done under the direction of Library Director, Barb Kruser.
The library accepts volunteer applications, which are kept on file for six months. There are a limited number of volunteer positions available and when an opening occurs, the applications in the file are checked for appropriate candidates to be interviewed for the position.
