Exhibit: Lilac Time Posters with the Lombard Historical Society

Helen Plum Library and the Lombard Historical Society are proud to showcase the original hand-painted 1930s Lilac Time posters by Chicago artist Charles Medin. Don’t miss this glimpse into Lombard’s history on the 2nd Floor!
Lilac Time Parade Bingo
Lilac Parade Bingo cards are now available! Grab a Bingo card from the Library or print your own below, and mark off the items or people as you see them during the parade on Sun, May 18. This activity can be played from any spot along the parade route. Turn in your card at the Library (with or without bingo) from Sun, May 18 through Sun, Jun 1 for a chance to win a gift card from a local business!*
The Lilac Parade steps off at 1:30pm on Sun, May 18 from Glenbard East High School. The Library will be open from 12:30-5pm on parade day. For more information about the parade, including a map of the route, visit the Lilac Parade website.

Drop-in storytime for families with children of all ages
Bring a blanket or chair and celebrate Lilac Time in Lilacia Park with stories and songs. Storytime will be held on the west side of the park under the Picnic Shelter. In the event of inclement weather, storytimes will be at the Library. Check our online calendar for the most up-to-date program information.
Lilac Crafternoons
Thursdays, May 8 & 15 at 4pm
Drop-in event for families with children of all ages
Show off your Lilac Pride with special Lilac Time Crafternoons! Use available supplies to design your own creation to take home.
Middle School Gardening

Registered event for grades 6-8
Do you have a green thumb or want to try your hand at gardening? Create an egg carton salsa garden and meet other plant enthusiasts while learning the basics.
Parade of Preschoolers
Fri, May 16 at 10am & 11:15am
Registered event for children ages 3-5 years, with participating adult; Helen Plum Library card required
Preschoolers will decorate their own mini parade floats to march through the Library.
How Does Your Garden Grow?
