Part-Time Patron Services Clerk

Hours: 28 hours/week; day, evening, and weekend hours

Salary: Dependent on qualifications; position starts at 12.84, includes vacation and sick pay

Are you energized by change? Would you welcome the opportunity to be an active member of the Patron Services team as we prepare for a move to a new Helen Plum Library building? Great customer service during these uncertain times requires staff with outstanding abilities, including patience, flexibility, good judgment, a sense of humor, and excellent communication skills. If you believe you have these qualifying skills, we would like you to consider joining the busy and dynamic Patron Services Team at the Helen Plum Library.

Additional essential skills include:

  • A passion to serve our community
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Serve as a Federal Passport Acceptance Agent – Certification provided by Library

One of the most exciting aspects of being a Helen Plum team member is the opportunity to be part of our plans and move to a brand-new Library facility in the fall of 2022. The variety of responsibilities for this position include greeting patrons and maintaining a friendly, welcoming environment, registering patrons for library cards, assisting with patron’s accounts, checking materials in and out, promoting Library Services, and serving as a Passport Agent.  Team members also assist with shelving items as needed, must be able to bend, stoop, lift and push full carts of books.   

Requirements: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required with one year of customer service experience.
