Position: Youth Services Seasonal Library Assistant (2 Positions Available)

Hours: 28 hours/week for 11 weeks; including some evenings and alternating weekends

Beginning Hourly Rate: $15 - $16.21, depending on qualifications

$16.21 is the midpoint of the pay grade. Starting at or above the midpoint is reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant relevant experience.

Position Description

Helen Plum Library seeks an enthusiastic and organized Youth Services Seasonal Library Assistant to help support our lively Summer Reading program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist and support the Helen Plum Summer Reading program, including registering patrons, maintaining supplies at the reading program desk, checking patron reading logs, and assisting with prize distribution
• Direct, assist, and support High School Summer Volunteens at the reading program desk
• Assist and support Youth Services Staff at the Youth Services Reference Desk and in programs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required
• Experience leading children and/or teens
• Library knowledge desired
• Spanish and/or Urdu language skills desired
