Not an Ordinary Artist: A Polish Immigrant’s Challenging and Enduring Story

Local author and art historian Gail Tanzer will explore the life and work of Florian Durzyński, a Polish immigrant and artist who found home in Chicago’s West Town.  Initially making his mark as a portrait painter, he was later hired by the Works Progress Administration to paint murals in Chicago Public Schools, creating a monumental community impact.
