Free Trees for Kids with Neighborhood Forest

Posted on:

Helen Plum Library is partnering with Neighborhood Forest to provide families with a free tree to plant! The goal is to give every child the priceless joy of planting and watching trees grow.

Since 2010, Neighborhood Forest has reached over 1,500 schools, libraries, and youth groups, engaged over 500,000 families, and planted over 130,000 (mostly urban and residential) trees through the hands of children and parents across North America.

Parents and caregivers can register for a free tree online by March 15 (limit one tree per family).

What kind of tree will we get?

The species of tree will be announced in late March/early April. Neighborhood Forest aims to provide native trees in all the regions they serve. They tend to provide species on a state-by-state basis and include different species each year to promote variety and diversity of trees.

When can I pick up my tree?

We estimate trees will be ready for pick-up from Sun, Apr 21 through Sat, Apr 27.
