Reserve a Study Room

Helen Plum Library offers Study Rooms in Adult, Teen, and Youth Services. Groups and individuals may reserve Study Rooms for a maximum of two hours per day. Helen Plum Library cardholders can make reservations up to one week in advance.

Study Room Guidelines

Daily Time Limit

  • Two-hour time limit: Study room users may reserve a study room for two hours per day.
  • Extended use: Study room users may remain in the room past the two-hour limit until another patron requests the room.
  • Reservations stacking: Study room users may not use multiple cards to extend their time beyond the two-hour daily limit.

Reservations

  • Reservations: Helen Plum Library cardholders may make reservations up to one week in advance.
  • Walk-in reservations: Non-Helen Plum Library cardholders may use study rooms on a walk-in basis.
  • Grace period: Reservations are held for 15 minutes past the start time. After that, the room may be offered to another user.
  • No-show rule: Multiple no-shows for study room reservations may lead to restrictions on future reservations.

General Use

  • Library conduct: Study room users must follow general Library Behavior Rules.
  • Room volume: Rooms are not soundproof. Users are expected to use appropriate volume for a shared space.
  • Reservation adjustments: Staff may change a study room booking location to accommodate other patrons.
  • Library discretion: The Library reserves the right to cancel, restrict, or extend reservations as necessary.
